The KaGogo - A Place of Safety Project aims to provide accessible mental health services and nutritional support to the underserved community of Nyakeni, in the Manzini region. Funded by the UK High Commission in Eswatini it combines a community counseling center and a soup kitchen, decentralizing mental health care while simultaneously offering nourishing meals to vulnerable and marginalized children. Notably, the contractor responsible for constructing this remarkable building is a member of the Ekukhanyeni community.

The KaGogo center serves as a safe haven, designed to meet the unique needs of the Ekukhanyeni community. This multifaceted facility will offer comprehensive services tailored to individuals facing trauma, addiction, difficult life events, emotional challenges, and other mental health issues.

One key feature is the child and youth-friendly space, which includes an age-appropriate counseling room and an outdoor playground. This dedicated area aims to provide a nurturing environment where children and adolescents can receive guidance and support, as well as engage in recreational activities that promote physical and emotional well-being.

KaGogo - A Place of Safety represents a holistic approach to community development, recognizing the interconnection between mental health and overall well-being. By addressing both psychological and nutritional needs, this initiative serves to empower individuals and families.
